Author: David CochraneDavid Cochrane is the founder of Cosmic Patterns Software, Inc., co-founder and curriculum director of the Avalon School of Astrology, past board member and President of the International Society for Astroloical Research, advisor to the National Council for Geocosmic Research, and the author of 2 astrology books. David was a full-time practicing professional astrologer from 1973 to 1981, and he has devoted most of his career to developing the Pegasus, Kepler, and Sirius software programs. He has been speaking regularly at international astrology conferences since the mid 1970’s. In autumn of 2008 David returned to graduate school at the University of Florida in a Ph.D. program in research evaluation and methodology; he received a B.A. degree in 1972 from SUNY Binghamton with a major in psychology. David is married and has one daughter. David’s biggest interest is a branch of astrology that he refers to as cosmic cybernetics, a term introduced by Theodor Landscheidt. Cosmic cybernetics involves the application of mathematical models to planetary positions to see intricate patterns that reflect energetic systems. David has reinterpreted many astrological factors in energetic terms and he applies these concepts in a practical system of chart interpretation that he uses in consultations as well as in research. Research studies have produced very promising results, with, for example, statistically significant correlations with professions in the Gauquelin database and short term forecasts of gold prices.
